ABOUT OUR FOUNDER

Yolanda Sampson, otherwise known as “Sister Y.O.,” is the Founder and President of GO Y.O. Worldwide, LLC, which creates products, performs live puppet shows and conducts puppet making workshops to educate and empower children to victoriously live out their Christian faith. A featured puppeteer in the Living Objects: African American Puppetry Exhibition at the Ballard Institute and Museum of Puppetry in Storrs, Connecticut, Yolanda who currently serves as President of the National Capital Puppetry Guild uses puppetry to reach children in impoverished communities such as the Migrant Children at the Texas/Mexico Border in McAllen, Texas; the Standing Rock Indian Reservation in Cannon Ball, North Dakota; the SOS Orphanage in Colon, Panama.  With creativity and flare, her impactful and entertaining puppet show productions have opened doors for performances at The Harriet Tubman House in London, England; Constitution Hall in Washington, D.C., the Smithsonian Museum of American History in Washington, D.C., Mt. Olivet Baptist Church in Peekskill, New York; Turner Elementary School in Houston, Texas; and the touring national Anheuser Busch Kings and Queens of Africa Storytelling Puppet Show. Yolanda is also an ordained minister who serves as Director of Evangelism at First Church of Christ (Holiness)U.S.A. A former Ms. Black World and a Washington Football Team Cheerleader, Yolanda received a Master of Divinity from Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena, California, and a Bachelor of Arts from Howard University’s School of Communication.
