DON’T SWEEP IT UNDER THE CARPET!

Are you ignoring or hiding the fact that you have unforgiveness in your heart? Sometimes, we sweep things under the carpet when we do not want to deal with our pain, people and problems. Somehow, we think that it is easier to ignore issues rather than dealing with it. Maybe we try to hide the fact that we even have a problem. For some of us, the problem is too big to sweep under the carpet anymore – we either need to purchase another carpet or allow the LORD to deal with our stuff. Is this you?

This week, GOD wants to deal with the problem of unforgiveness in our hearts. GOD wants to pull the rug out from under us so that we experience the joy of forgiveness and HIS abundant blessings.  In Psalm 32, King David described what happened when he swept his sins under the carpet, but later removed the carpet. “When I refused to admit my wrongs, I was miserable, moaning and complaining all day long so that even my bones felt brittle. Day and night, Your hand kept pressing on me. My strength dried up like water in the summer heat; You wore me down. [pause] When I finally saw my own lies, I owned up to my sins before You, and I did not try to hide my evil deeds from You. I said to myself, “I’ll admit all my sins to the Eternal,” and You lifted and carried away the guilt of my sin” (Psalm 32:3-5 – The Voice).

Make a decision to keep your heart clean! If you are aware that you have unforgiveness in your heart, confess your sins and repent. “Whoever hides their sins will not be successful, but whoever confesses their sins and stops doing wrong will receive mercy” (Proverbs 28:13 – ERV). Ask the LORD today whether there is any speck of unforgiveness in your heart.  “Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts: And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting” (Psalm 139:23-24 – KJV). If you do this daily, then you will never have piles of unforgiveness under the carpet of your heart! GOD bless you!
